Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Rental Agreement
By booking a vehicle through Nomad Auto, operated by 9564 7152 Quebec Inc., you agree to be bound by these terms of service. A rental agreement will be signed at the time of vehicle delivery or pickup. The signed agreement, combined with these terms, constitutes the full contract between the renter and Nomad Auto. In the event of a conflict between these terms and the signed rental agreement, the signed agreement takes precedence.
2. Eligibility & Driver's License
Renters must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid driver's license for at least 1 year
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID
- Present a valid credit card in the renter's name for the security deposit
Drivers aged 21 to 24 are subject to a young driver surcharge of $10 per day. International visitors must present a valid passport along with an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to their home country license. Nomad Auto reserves the right to refuse any renter who does not meet these requirements.
3. Booking, Confirmation & Availability
Online booking requests are submitted for review and are not confirmed until a member of our team verifies vehicle availability and contacts you. Nomad Auto reserves the right to decline or modify a reservation based on vehicle availability, rental duration, or other operational considerations. A booking is considered confirmed only once you receive explicit confirmation from our team by phone or email.
4. Security Deposit & Payment
A security deposit is required at the start of every rental and is held on the renter's credit card. The deposit amount varies depending on the vehicle and rental duration, and will be communicated at the time of booking confirmation. The deposit is released after the vehicle is returned in good condition, subject to inspection.
Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and debit cards for rental fees. The security deposit must be placed on a credit card. Cash payments are not accepted for the deposit.
5. Delivery & Return
Nomad Auto delivers vehicles to and picks them up from the renter's chosen address within the Greater Montréal area. The renter must be present at the agreed-upon address and time for both delivery and return. A vehicle condition report will be completed together with the renter at the time of delivery and again at return.
If the renter is not present at the scheduled time and has not contacted us in advance, a waiting fee may apply. After 30 minutes of waiting, the delivery may be cancelled and treated as a no-show.
6. Business Hours & After-Hours Service
Standard delivery and return hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Deliveries and returns outside these hours are possible but are subject to an additional fee equivalent to one full rental day.
7. Rental Period & Late Returns
The rental period begins at the time of vehicle delivery and ends at the agreed return time. Returning a vehicle late without prior authorization will result in additional charges. A grace period of 30 minutes is allowed. Beyond that, each additional hour is charged at the hourly rate. Returns more than 3 hours late are charged a full additional day.
8. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled delivery are subject to a charge equivalent to one day's rental. No-shows — where the renter is absent at the delivery time without prior notice — are charged the full reservation amount.
9. Insurance & Optional Coverage
Basic liability insurance is included with every rental as required by Quebec law. This covers third-party bodily injury and property damage up to the minimum amounts prescribed by the Automobile Insurance Act of Quebec.
Optional coverage is available and includes collision damage waiver (CDW) and personal accident insurance. Renters who decline optional coverage are personally responsible for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period, including theft, vandalism, and weather-related damage. All coverage options and costs will be explained before the rental agreement is signed.
10. Mileage
Daily and weekly rentals include 200 km per day. Monthly rentals include 3,000 km per month. Additional kilometres beyond the included allowance are charged at $0.15 per km. Unlimited mileage packages may be available on select vehicles — ask our team for details.
11. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are delivered with a specific fuel level noted on the condition report. The renter must return the vehicle with the same fuel level. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refuelling charge will apply based on current fuel prices plus a service fee.
12. Vehicle Condition & Cleanliness
All vehicles are cleaned and inspected before each delivery. The renter is expected to return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. The following policies apply:
- Smoking, vaping, and use of cannabis are strictly prohibited in all vehicles
- Pets are allowed only with prior authorization; a cleaning surcharge may apply
- Excessive dirt, stains, odors, or interior damage will result in a cleaning or repair fee deducted from the security deposit
13. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of the vehicle are strictly prohibited and will void all insurance coverage and result in full liability for the renter:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance
- Using the vehicle for racing, towing, or off-road driving
- Using the vehicle for commercial transportation (ride-sharing, deliveries, etc.)
- Allowing an unauthorized person to drive the vehicle
- Transporting hazardous materials
- Any illegal activity
14. Additional Drivers
Additional drivers may be added for $8 per day. Each additional driver must meet the same eligibility requirements as the primary renter (age, license, ID) and must be present with their documents at the time of delivery. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle.
15. Geographic Restrictions
Vehicles may be driven within the province of Quebec and in other Canadian provinces without restriction. Travel to the United States requires prior written authorization from Nomad Auto. Taking a vehicle outside of Canada without authorization is a violation of the rental agreement and may result in immediate termination of the rental and full financial liability.
16. Traffic Violations, Tolls & Fines
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic violations, parking tickets, toll charges, and any other fines incurred during the rental period. If Nomad Auto receives a fine on behalf of the renter after the vehicle is returned, the amount of the fine plus an administrative fee of $25 will be charged to the renter's credit card on file.
17. Damage & Accident Reporting
In the event of any accident, damage, theft, or mechanical issue, the renter must:
- Contact Nomad Auto immediately at 438 408 5217
- Contact the police if the incident involves another vehicle, injury, or property damage
- Take photographs of the scene, damage, and any other vehicles involved
- Obtain the names and contact information of any witnesses
- Complete an accident report form provided by Nomad Auto
Failure to report an accident or damage promptly may void insurance coverage and result in the renter being held fully liable for all repair costs.
18. Right to Refuse or Cancel
Nomad Auto reserves the right to refuse a rental or cancel a reservation at any time if the renter does not meet eligibility requirements, presents invalid or suspicious documents, appears unfit to drive, or if there is reasonable concern about the safety of the vehicle. In such cases, any prepaid amounts will be refunded in full.
19. Limitation of Liability
Nomad Auto's total liability to the renter is limited to the amount of rental fees paid under the rental agreement. Nomad Auto is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of income, missed events, or inconvenience, regardless of the cause. This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Quebec law.
20. Governing Law
These terms of service and all rental agreements are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute arising from these terms or a rental agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the District of Montréal, Quebec.
